Uku Ukuleles is an awesome new lifestyle brand! Their mantra is “Spread Happiness. Grab a Ukulele.” This is a brand I can get behind for sure. As a musician and designer myself, it’s great to work with other people who recognize the potential of both good design and music. The founder of Uku reached out to me after a thorough internet search for a designer with the appropriate skill set. Working together through a creative process, coupled with extensive searches for Hawaiian inspired art, I designed the Uku logo as well as a few designs for their flagship Ukuleles. The application of the art was done with laser etching. In the design process I took this into consideration and designed everything in a monotone style so it could be burned in effectively and still look sweet.
